Ria Magtoto is a 17-year-old girl who can outstandingly manage both her academics and extracurriculars at the same time. She is excellent in all her classes and was recognized as part of the top 3 Grade 11 students in Treston. Alongside her academic excellence is her admirable servant leadership to Christian Legacy as the Royal Council President.

Balancing Extracurricular Activities and Academics.

Would you say that there’s a good balance between the two?

Honestly, it's leaning more towards my Academics because I feel like that's my season right now as a student. I would say that 70% of my time is geared towards my academics then the remaining 30% is allotted for my extracurriculars and others.

What stresses you more between the two? Which has a heavier load?

Extracurriculars for sure are harder in terms of planning CL events since there are a lot more documents that have to be passed, there's a lot more to the checklist compared to my academics. Starting from scratch is more challenging for me since it'll be coming from your creative side other than your intellectual side.

What do you do whenever your schedule doesn't go as planned?

What I would usually do is to just pick myself up, dust myself off and get back on track. I would always do my best to get back on what I have and need to do in order for me not to get distracted and to get back on my usual routine.

How are you currently balancing your academics and extracurricular this year?

This school year with student council and going out with my friends as well as family stuff... What balances it out is my time management., I would allot a specific time for studying and I would then reward myself for studying with those extracurriculars.

How do you cope with the stress between your acads and extracurricular?

I would usually take short breaks and reward

myself for the small achievements I've made,

and when I get too stressed, I tend to stay

away from my laptop and take a breather.

Do you have any tips for those struggling with balancing their extracurricular and academic life?

The most important tip that I can give those struggling is that you should be more intentional with your time. It might seem hard at first but if you keep in mind that you have a specific schedule or routine that you can discipline yourself to stick to then you won't

Ria is an inspiration to all the academic achievers out there - including myself. She carries traits of an exceptional leader who is destined for great success. Ria, just like any of us, is human and is prone to stress when being overloaded with academic school work and extracurriculars, but we must remind ourselves to take a breather and give ourselves validation of our little achievements.

When things don't go as planned, we must try to get ourselves back up on our own two feet and continue on our journey to our goal. Ria being able to manage both her academic life and social life is a splendid job! I personally learned so much from Ria and she is truly inspiring and deserves a big clap.

.

Ria behind the scenes of achieving wonderous works is truly remarkable! She is excellent in her academics just as she is in her extracurricular activities and her secret to this is self discipline and time management. Sometimes it feels impossible to get the truckload of tasks done before the due date, but let us remember that Ria Magtoto was able to prove that IT IS possible. if she can do it, then you can too!
