Long Distance Relationship_Life abroad as a student

What does it feel like studying far from your school? How do you manage your time?

To be honest, it is totally different from what we are used to. Studying abroad isn’t easy for us students. As we also need to adjust to their system. We need to adjust to their society. As well as the time zone difference.

As a student who studies abroad, I can tell how hard it is unlike students who can join face-to-face classes. For me, distance learning is not for everyone. Yes, there are some benefits, like the student can continue studying even when they are far from the school, but it isn’t for everyone.

Distance learning is a type of learning wherein it is easy and more convenient for a certain individual. However, it is advantageous and helpful if a person is inclined to learn something new like a new language as well as develop digital skills with regards to new technological advancements. Distance learning can be flexible, comfortable, or can even rely on a student's own pace in learning. Thus, by fully relying on distance learning, there are drawbacks like being easily distracted, decreasing motivation, unclear delivery of lessons, and even numerous unanswered questions.

Distance learning is helpful in some ways, but not all students can cope with this kind of learning. It is a matter of choice and consideration of factors regarding the current situations. But students, especially in the primary, intermediate, and secondary, should consider a face-to-face learning set-up as they need to focus on certain aspects, experience and learn first hand that will be helpful in the foundation of their education as they grow.

Online learning is not as beneficial as face-to-face learning because there is a lack of interaction between teachers and classmates.

The problems with distant learning started in 2020 and continued through 2021 and 2022. Connectivity concerns, academic dishonesty, and the poor quality of teaching that came with the protracted remote setting were some of the issues that remained.

The education department also took offense after the World Bank put out a report on poor learning results among Filipino students in July.

Also, one of the positive effects of having online classes for our class is that we will be able to manage our time in terms of household chores, self-care as well as our studies.
