Our society is no stranger to trash, waste, and its abundance. Think of everything you do during the day that generates empty boxes, bottles, plastic wrap, and other kinds of waste that you just simply throw away in the end. Have you ever thought that other than putting it to waste, wouldn’t it be better if you could use and recycle said trash and make them into contemporary pieces of art? This is the goal of Treston's RecreART art program.
What is RecreART you may ask?
Well, RecreART is an art program that showcases the students' different works of recreated art from famous pieces of artwork, however, it shouldn't be drawn, but instead, be made in various recycled materials you can find around you. This shows that trash can still be turned into an extraordinary piece of art if one puts the effort into making it.
This well-thought-out art program not only helps the environment by recycling trash but also raises the awareness of students on how much waste the world produces, and in this case, we can learn how to reduce it by repurposing and reusing materials that we can find in the comfort of our homes.
The following photos that are presented down below are the wonderful artworks of the Christian Legacy students who have participated in the program.
