Note from the Publisher:
The upcoming Christian Legacy Musicale aptly titled The Colors of Christmas is a fund-raising event for the School’s Scholars. This is done annually, and the funds go to scholarships awarded by the school. We asked one of our Junior Journalist to talk about what it means to be a CL Scholar.
----------------------
A scholar by definition is someone who is a person who has done advanced study in a special field. They are also students who have academic discipline and pursue their studies with dedication. But in Christian Legacy’s standards, what would make one a scholar?
Following the CLASS (Character Excellence, Life Skills, Academic Excellence, Social Skills, Servant Leadership) acronym that is the backbone of a model pupil, a CL scholar is someone who follows this philosophy and serves to better their heart and character each day for themselves, and for those around them.
Despite such a title, here at Christian Legacy, scholars are just like regular students, and regular students are just like scholars; the only difference is some possess more servant leadership qualities, and guide others in hopes of said qualities influencing them as well. Servant leadership and compassion is the baseline for being a CL student after all, and building character and values builds heart as well.
As a scholar myself, I hope to strive to become an even better student than I am right now, and I believe that as much as I have a lot of room for growth, I’ve come a long way from where I started, and I have Christian Legacy and my friends to thank for that. I’m grateful for everything I have right now, and I’ll continue to be grateful for the things I will have in the future. Thank you for reading this article, and this is what it means to be a Christian Legacy Scholar.
